Our new Home

We were fortunate in our rental search last July. A dentist that Thor had made contact with and became friends with told us to go look at his father's house. He said it was just now going on the market. So we went and looked and thought, wow, this is a nice big house, and maybe someday.... When we told him we really weren't in the position to buy right now he offered us a great deal. We are going to rent it until it sells. They gave us a big break on the rent and in return we do the yard work (lots of mowing and trimming) and keep the house looking good for showings. The downside is when the house sells, we go too. The realtor estimated that it would take at least 6 months or more to sell a big house like this one so we are crossing our fingers. The kids love the space inside and out. We only live on the ground level and have the upstairs available for when company comes (hint hint hint). I just keep imagining the Rock Band parties we could have here........

We also enjoy the apple and pear trees, the blackberry bushes, and tons and tons of room to run and ride bikes! The kids are filthy and exhausted every night!

The house is about 30 years old, but the kitchen was recently remodeled....granite, stainless steel (impossible to keep clean), convection oven, glass-top stove.

The old stray cat came with the house. We feed him every night. Lorili has named him "Buster." Gabe likes to pet, pull, chase, and kick the poor cat....we are working on that.

Visitors....

We've seen some unique wildlife here at our new home. This guy showed up the other day. The kids got a kick out of watching him. He showed up on my birthday and Lorili thought that was the coolest thing that we saw a peacock on my birthday:) There is also a family of deer that live nearby, we see the doe and her fawns every once in a while, and one day we saw the buck. The kids LOVE IT!

"Violet...you're turning Violet!"

Just down the road there is a Blueberry farm. You can pick your own blueberries for $1.25/lb! We picked about 5 lbs of blueberries and ate our weight in blueberries while picking. I have never seen a blueberry bush in the first place, so this put me in shock. The Blueberries were huge and delicious...the best I've ever eaten! Now all I need is a deep freezer to store the extras! Think of the possibilities...blueberry pie, blueberry buckle, blueberry smoothies, blueberry.......

Happy Birthday to Me!

This was my birthday present this year.....

Not really, but we did buy it on my birthday.....I hope this becomes a trend ;)

We can no longer say "go get in the car," now that we have two cars. So the kids have given them nicknames. The Outlook goes by "Bennie" and the Corolla goes by "Lightening MacQueen." We are all enjoying the extra leg-room and the XM Radio. We look forward to road-trips that don't involve shoving things into every nook and cranny just to make things fit!

Thank you Anna for watching the kids while we spent all afternoon at the dealers!

Almost caught up!

Alright...I've got us almost up to date. I've even backdated my entries to reflect the real time (now I don't look like a slacker:) Lots of fun stuff this summer. We are settling in to our new house (pictures to come) and Thor started his second week of work. He's been loving it, and so have we! No more late night studying..no more patient scheduling, but unfortunately there is still the occasional vomiting patient:) Thanks for hanging in there and checking out my blog even though we have been MIA for the last two months!
Love ya all!

Coming Soon......

Our internet finally got hooked up today so now I can start catching up. I've noticed I'm going on two months since the last post. What can I say other than we have just been HOMELESS. But now that has changed so I will get you all updated ASAP.
