Happy Birthday Lorili!

Last night we were reminiscing about what we were doing 5 years ago from the day before Lorili was born. It was so fun to remember, but I'm amazed at how hard I had to think about it to remeber it all! How different life was back then! It was the middle of my 2nd semester of my Junior year as an accounting student at NAU. Thor was busy working at UPS and working on his Political Science degree. I had just been to the doctor on Friday and the doctor said he would be surprised if I made it through the weekend. However, I managed to make it through. Early Monday morning I started having contractions and thought I was in labor, but they eventually stopped, so I went to work. Then I went and took a midterm for a class that was scheduled for that night because I didn't think I would make it much longer. Late that afternoon I went to the doctor again and he said he would see me later tonight, or in the morning! He had me scheduled to be induced at 8am the next morning, but he didn't think Lorili would wait that long. He said to go out and enjoy your last night as a childless couple. So we enjoyed steak and potatoes (my pregnancy craving) at Outback and rented some movies. We stayed up till midnight watching movies, at which time my contractions really started. I walked the floor from 12-4am while Thor slept. I finally woke him up and said "lets go." So off to the hospital we went, and out Lorili came!

Does that look like her?

Lorili is quick to make friends! Here she is with two friends at 2 weeks old!

Her first "pigtails", was her hair really that short?!?

I love this picture, it captures 3 things she loves:

GABE....Parades....HAWKEYES!

Is there anyone out there more girly than this! Princess through and through!

We love you Lorili!

One of the most precious memories I have about Lorili's birth and the days after are this:
We flew out as soon as Mommy was feeling up to company and we went shopping for the tiniest dress we could find and it was still too big!She wore it for her first ever church meeting anyway and her taste in beautiful clothing started that very day!
I held her pinkie finger across my pinkie fingernail and her finger didn't even reach all the way across my nail bed!
Lorili, today you told me you felt like you were really 5 years old!You are such a grown up girl. You are in my prayers every morning and every night, Mi Corazon.Thank you for all the joy and fun we share. See you tonight.
We love you so much, Oregon Grandma and Grandpa

Happy Birthday Lorili!!! How exciting. Isn't it amazing how time can go so fast and life can change so much?! JJ is only six little months old, and my life has completely changed...going from working hard and playing with Jared all of the time to staying home and going on one date in six months - wouldn't trade it for the world.
