Happy Birthday Thor!

Thor is another year older today!

We made a birthday cake to take to school today. Lorili helped with the frosting, and Thor helped arrange the marshmallow teeth-notice the gold crown. I had fun trying new techniques with this cake. I've not done much with fondant before, but I used it to cover the lips that I cut out of a layer of cake. The teeth are simply marshmallows, but I painted the gold crown with a paste made from edible gold dust and lemon juice. Did I mention it tasted great too!

I am so proud of what you can accomplish Katie!!! I hope you are keeping a cake scrapbook. That's something I should have done years ago and didn't start till later in life:(
Love you, MOM

Nice artistic work, Katie! I love how anything having to do with teeth has to has to be ordained with a gold crown--Has Thor made you your own gold crown yet? I have one for my front tooth with a "K". Works great for Halloween--you'll have to have him make you one before he GRADUATES!!!
