Tricks from Grandpa

This is a skill acquired from Grandpa Brown. He pulls his ears to make his tongue move in different directions. Gabe loved it and like to do it himself. He thinks he's really funny:)

Fun in the Mud!

To survive outside in Yuma in June-you must be near water! We must have left them outside alone for too long because they started out jumping in the sprinklers, and then......

Sweet Adellae!

It seems like everytime we make it home to Arizona there is a new member of the family. On this visit we finally met sweet little Adellae. Lorili loved meeting her youngest cousin Addie. She loved to hold her and talk to her and make her smile.

Just Plain Happy!

It's always fun to go home. After a long car drive to Arizona we were thrilled to be out of the car!

Road Trip

So if you've been wondering where we are and have been since graduation, here is a recap:

Monday-packed up our PODS
Tuesday-Drove across Iowa and eastern Nebraska (BORING) Wednesday-Finished the dull Nebraska drive and made it to Grand Junction, Colorado. We loved the drive through Denver and the kids LOVED the Eisenhower Tunnel. Thursday-Journeyed through south-eastern Utah by way of Monument Valley-AMAZING! and Mexican Hat to our old home of FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA.
Flagstaff was the best stop yet-no disapointments. We went and saw our old home at Campus Heights Family Housing, the new hotel and eco-building and strolled down campus walkways. We ate at our favorite Thai food restaurant (The Little Thai Kitchen), stayed at a nice clean hotel with an indoor heated swimming pool. It was fun to go back and remember the many memories we made there. Lorili was so excited to drive down Route 66 in Flagstaff Arizona where she was born. Ever since the movie Cars came out she loves the song "Get your kicks on Route 66." And does any one know what significance this gas station holds????

This is an historical landmark- this is the place Thor and I met! Yep, this is where we were introduced almost 8 years ago.

We made it to Yuma on Friday and have been catching up on the news. It seems we left Iowa City in the nick of time. Iowa City is flooding bad and our prayers and thoughts go out to those of you who are displace and dealing with this catastrophy. We miss you!

Best Friends Forever

What great friends! We never would have made it through Dental School and Iowa winters, tornados, and humidity without them! They were always there when we needed. We shared endless nights of Rock Band, Settlers of Catan, Risk, Apples to Apples, Perudo, and Ticket to Ride. We shared holidays, birthdays, pregnancies and illnesses. We became family, and family ties last forever. We are so greatful to have had such amazing friends who lifted our spirits and kept us going when things got rough. We even promised our children to marry theirs, Lorili is waiting for Joe, and Gabe will be romancing Sophie in the not so distant future. We look forward to watching their families grow and being part of it even though we will be far apart.
Leticia, Kindra, me, Shayla & Heather
"Bryner" (Matt), "Elmer" (Ray), Garrett, Thor, & Spencer

While we know our husbands did all the book and clinical work, we did play a big part! How many dental students have a clean house, food on the table, angel children, and a devoted wife waiting for them at home? We were happy to do it and proud to see our Men clear the finish line!

Dr. Thorson

Thank you to all the parents who made the long journey to hot and humid Iowa City. We enjoyed your visit and are glad you were able to join our family in celebrating Thor's graduation from Dental School. Here is a short clip of the ceremony for those who missed it...don't worry, it is super short:)
