Happy Birthday Lorili!

Last night we were reminiscing about what we were doing 5 years ago from the day before Lorili was born. It was so fun to remember, but I'm amazed at how hard I had to think about it to remeber it all! How different life was back then! It was the middle of my 2nd semester of my Junior year as an accounting student at NAU. Thor was busy working at UPS and working on his Political Science degree. I had just been to the doctor on Friday and the doctor said he would be surprised if I made it through the weekend. However, I managed to make it through. Early Monday morning I started having contractions and thought I was in labor, but they eventually stopped, so I went to work. Then I went and took a midterm for a class that was scheduled for that night because I didn't think I would make it much longer. Late that afternoon I went to the doctor again and he said he would see me later tonight, or in the morning! He had me scheduled to be induced at 8am the next morning, but he didn't think Lorili would wait that long. He said to go out and enjoy your last night as a childless couple. So we enjoyed steak and potatoes (my pregnancy craving) at Outback and rented some movies. We stayed up till midnight watching movies, at which time my contractions really started. I walked the floor from 12-4am while Thor slept. I finally woke him up and said "lets go." So off to the hospital we went, and out Lorili came!

Does that look like her?

Lorili is quick to make friends! Here she is with two friends at 2 weeks old!

Her first "pigtails", was her hair really that short?!?

I love this picture, it captures 3 things she loves:

GABE....Parades....HAWKEYES!

Is there anyone out there more girly than this! Princess through and through!

We love you Lorili!

Lorili Is 5!!!

Lorili celebrated her birthday party at the Iowa Gym-nest Saturday night. She had lots of friends come and play. We had a great time and we were all exhausted by the end!

We followed up the running around with some yummy cake and ice cream. My friend Heather Gibbons helped me with the cake this year. When I asked Lorili what kind of cake she wanted she said, round and white with lots of pink flowers on it. So here is what we came up with!

business in the front, party in the back

Thor has been know for his ability to grow hair fast, both on his head and on his face. He is constantly changing his "do." When it comes to the hair on top of his head he usally lets it grow, and then cuts it really short to maximize the time before he has to cut it again. Recently I convinced him to grow it out a little longer than usuall, I wanted to see how curly it would get. I figured he would cut it eventually. Well, he let it grow, and grow and grow! Then finally he cut it off last night and went to school looking like this this morning!!!!
Maybe Rockband it getting to him!
I googled Mullet and here's what wikipdia had to say about it:

A mullet is a hairstyle that is short in the front, top, and sides, but long in the back (also referred to by a number of other names, some regional, including hockey hair, "ten ninety", "millennium mullet" helmet hair, coupe longueuil etc.). It is also described as "business in the front, party in the back."

Pics as promised

What's the point of having a two car garage, and a 3 car drive way for a family with one car? EXERCISE! It took us nearly an hour to clear away all the snow, deep and heavy!

At least someone benefited from all this snow! Lorili loves it!

You've Got to Be Kidding Me!!!!!

The weather for the last week has started to get on my nerves! It all started last Tuesday night when a very windy, very cold blizzard rolled through. We heard the wind howl all night long and woke up Wednesday morning to NO HOT WATER! Our hot water pipes had frozen and it took until that afternoon to get it flowing again. Thursday night brought more snow, AND so did Friday night! The snow started again Sunday afternoon, and by 8pm we had 7 more inches to shovel! Monday morning it snowed, then hailed, then poured rain! Tuesday afternoon brought a little snow and rain. And now this morning we woke up to a nice, nasty blizzard. It was snowing and blowing at 7:30am and it is has been non stop since (its now 1:50pm)! Enough is enough! I'll post a picture as soon as I'm ready to brave the outdoors:)

Camera Day

Today was "camera day" at gymnastics. At first I thought it rather funny that they chose to designate a day for picture taking. However, when I went to take some action shots of Lorili I soon understood the purpose of allowing cameras on a specific day. Everytime I held the camera up to take a picture Lorili would stop (stop listening, stop balancing) and would pose for the camera. Her coach was a bit frustrated, so I took a few pictures and left.
